You can use advanced commands in email to get information from and into the Gallaudet Technology Help Desk.

TO RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM THE HELP DESK, send email to one of the addresses above, with one of the following queries in the subject line.

help Returns the Welcome Message and Help File
listprojects Returns a list of project names and project numbers
HTML form Returns a form that you can use to submit issues
(because the form contains hidden contact information for the requestor,
the HTML form received should be used only by the requestor.
getTicket "number" Displays the entire details on an existing issue
     Example:   getTicket 235
getData "keyword" Displays Gallaudet Knowledge Base solutions based on the keyword
     Example: getData GDOC
getschema Returns a list of project fields (schema) for the project
getMine For agents only, returns a list of assignments

TO SUBMIT AN EMAIL REQUEST THAT IS AUTO-ASSIGNED (for faster service),

  • Send an email to helpdesk@gallaudet.edu and include a line of text--in the body of the message--
    that shows what service you wish.  [Alternative: Submit your requests via the web at http://helpdesk.gallaudet.edu and just pick the service from the drop-down list.]
